About the event
LARP camps are hosted on several acres of land nestled between two large, forested hills. Our healthy, year-round stream flows through the property helping to bring cool air into our well-shaded space.
Objective: To create an engaging and immersive live-action role-play (LARP) experience for children aged 9-14, focusing on strategic combat, teamwork, and storytelling within a fantasy setting. Learn the art of strategic combat, and forge unbreakable bonds with fellow companions!
The Story Masters (Ian & Melanie Bright) have devised a unique storyline, plot, tasks, goals, and events for the children to immerse themselves in.
On the first day, children will create their heroic characters, choose their class (warrior, mage, battle mage, rouge, druid, or cleric), and assign skill points to unlock class-specific abilities. Children may choose to be either chaotic good or lawful good.
Next, participants will craft their own foam weapons and spells and make leather-like armor with plenty of help from facilitators.
We will go over basic LARP rules and safety guidelines, battle mechanics, and rules of engagement. All of which will be practiced with seasoned cast members. Our battles are akin to “sword tag”. Head strikes and full-force swings are to be avoided.
Under the watchful eye of our LARP instructors, campers will discover the importance of teamwork, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship, all while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Character costumes are CRUCIAL for LARPing and provide a strong sense of continuity while in-game. Parents are responsible for outfitting their children in an imaginative costume to be worn each day such as armor, robes, hats, tiaras, etc. Please keep the heat of Summer in mind as you and your child craft their unique garb.
